                    Walking in the Truth
Let’s first examine ourselves; are we walking in the Truth? Are we obedient? Are we making our God and the leaders happy?
In the Third Epistle of John, in verse 4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” Here, Apostle John feels happy to know that his spiritual children are walking in truth. Always pastors, elders and leaders feel happy and rejoice when disciples and believers in the church are walking on the Truth. Mostly, I feel happy when those believers who were walking on the wrong tracks towards death and return back to right track towards eternal life.
If the leaders and pastors, become happy extremely when believers walked in the truth. Now, let’s imagine how our heavenly Father may feel? Obviously, God the Father and Jesus Christ will be happy when we walk in the truth.
It hurts pastor when sometimes believers are on wrong way and become disobedient to God. Many believers don’t understand these things. We should learn to understand it. Now let’s talk about the meaning of walking on the truth. What is truth and how to walk in the truth?
#These are the most important things to know:-
[A] Walking in the truth-To know the truth
We all know the verse John 14:6, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:16-17, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
John 16:13, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
[B] Walking in the truth-to be obedient
Very best is to follow the truth who is Jesus Christ. Obedient is because of the love and not because of fear. To say “I love God” is easy but proof will be in action. No love, it means no obedient.
Walking in the truth is to have love in us. Love not only those who loved us but for those also to whom we feel hate. Luke 6:32-33, “But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
“And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.”
But the problem is sin so; people can’t fulfill the great commandments. The reason is people have become selfish from inside; they love only themselves no other.
John 13: 34-35, “And new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” If we love each other everyone can understand God is with us. Love is the mark of a true disciple. People will see love for one another which will clarify that we are the follower of Jesus Christ.
Many time people they try to pretend that they are a Christian who follows Christ. And they try to be good during fellowship, only inside the church’s building. But in reality their life is different. If we love one another as Jesus loves us then all will know that we are the follower of Jesus Christ.
John 14:15, “If you love me, keep My commandments.” if we love God then we must obey Him and He will give us Holy Spirit. The love in our life will be proof that we are obeying God’s commandments. In John 14:21, “he who has My commandments and keeps them, it is who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” obeying the word of God is to Love Him. Do you know why God command us to Love Him and to obey His word because to give us joy. So, we can have a joy and peace. (John 15:10-11) “If you keep my My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”
To love your neighbor is to fulfilling all the law. The summary and conclusion of all commandments comes in this commandment i.e. “love your neighbor like you love yourself”.
[C]Walking in the Truth- Faith which has love in action
Galatians 5:6, “for in union with the Messiah Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision matters. What matters is faith expressed through love.”
James 2:14, “what good does it do, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith but does not prove it with actions? This kind of faith cannot save him, can it? I have faith only saying is not enough. Faith should be proving itself with actions. One friend of mine, he always say to me, “how much I have faith in God, I know you can’t understand it.” But his action of faith doesn’t suit to his faith in God.
James 2:17, “in the same way, faith by itself, if it does not prove itself with actions, is dead.
[D]Walking in the Truth-learn to forgive
Col. 3:15, “Be tolerant of one another and forgive each other if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, you also should forgive.”
We want forgiveness, then we must to learn to forgive, we everybody may have demerits, which other are enduring so, others demerits also we need to endure. Love will cover all the multitude sin. Love never sees other sin and blame. So, love each other very deeply. 1 Peter 4:8, “Above all, continue to love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.”
Conclusion:-So, let’s walk in the truth and let the world know that we are the Disciples of Christ. Always our thought must be how we can love other and how we can encourage other (Hebrews 10:24, “And let us continue to consider how to motivate one another to love and good deeds”). Don’t left behind anyone, together we are strong not alone. And let us walk in the truth through actions so; we can have joy in full. Let us become the example of the truth which is our Lord Jesus Christ. And let us make our God happy. And let us make our pastor and leaders also feel happy. So let’s change our thoughts that when we are obedient to God and walking in truth, not only it makes God happy but also to our leaders and pastors of the church because, pastors are given from God to feed His people in the church, Jeremiah 3:15, “And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” So, pastor who feeds the God’s people with God’s knowledge and understanding will be happy when he/she knows, they are walking in the truth.

Time to be saved from perverse generation

Acts 2:40, and with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” Here, peter is saying perverse to the generation of that time. But we should understand that today’s generation is becoming more perverse.

#changing influences are leading to new trends and also on the verge of perverse:-

ð    We live in the sex-saturated societies that promote sexual activities.Homosexuality and abortion are legalized in many countries.Murder, gang violence, teenage pregnancies, drug usage, egomaniac, filthy language are becoming common and all these things are polluting the mind of people so, people are becoming polluted spiritually and also mentally.

ð    Rising rates of depression and suicide. Today’s generation is uncanny, Even kids are stressing out over grades, schedules, looks, popularity, violence, the future, the desirable lifestyle and many mores. Which are creating the outcome like people experiment the alcohol, cigarettes and many more because they are pressured, bored, depressed, taking as a fashion too or trying to be stress-free

ð    Misuse of social network and technologies which are for human benefits.

ð    Criminals go free because of corruption in judgment or justice system.
#this is truly a time to be saved from a perverse generation. All Christians should add like Peter advised to add to our faith in 2 Peter 1:5-6:-

   A.   “add to your faith virtue”
People of virtue and pure heart have power because virtue yields strength. People who are virtuous and righteous have power that evil people do not have.

   B.   “to virtue knowledge”
Knowledge is to know right and wrong.

   C.   “to knowledge self-control”
Self-control is one of the fruit of the Spirit. And it is to rule ourselves properly or to control over our desires.

  D.   “To self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, to brotherly kindness love.”
The last but the main important thing is the “love”- love for the God and love for the all people. In Mark 12:30-31, “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment.
“And the second, like it, is this: ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
In 1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

So, love is very important in our faith.
#in Colossians 3:2 “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
If we are preoccupied with movies, television, sports, novels, newspapers, business, and even hobbies, we can miss what God has for us. Our focus and attention must be on God’s word. So, we should set our mind on things on above not of this earth.
#In Colossians 3:5, so put to death your worldly impulses: sexual sin, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry). So, remember we must put to death, whatever us worldly in us. So, we must refuse to do bad things that belong to this earth.
Romans 1:21, “because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” We are filling up our thoughts with the things of the earth instead of God’s word. All those thoughts which are futile for people’s spiritual growth and so, their hearts are darkened.

Conclusion:-

Now, it’s a time to be saved from this perverse generation, Colossians 3:8-10:- “But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.
Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.”
We must walk in the integrity of the righteousness. So, that upcoming generation may be blessed.so, let’s live our life in God’s righteousness and be saved from this crooked generation.Proverbs 20:7, “The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.” At least, we need to think for our children for their better life and for upcoming generation. It’s our responsibility to be saved and to save our upcoming generation from perverse things.
All we need to do in this perverse generation, Philippians 2:15-“so that you may be blameless and innocent, God’s children without any faults among a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world.”

Bible says that we are like the bright stars that shine in the dark sky at night. Among this perverse generation, we shine as lights in the world. And God’s children must live blameless and innocent among this perverse generation so;it’s time to be saved and to save people among this perverse generation.

Prayer Life

Jude 20 says, “But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit.”
Charles Spurgeon, “prayer is an art which only the Holy Spirit can teach us. He is the giver of all prayer.” We are ordinary human but when we live prayer life, we become the extraordinary person with supernatural power. The power of Holy Spirit, protection of the Almighty and the work in our life which is beyond our imagination. We need to believe this and should live prayer life.

Let’s see some of the human’s life who got prayer life from Old Testament.
Elijah was also an ordinary person.Sinful nature was also in Elijah.  He became many times, sad, anxious and exhausted even to death. There was no one to encourage neither his mom or dad nor his siblings. He was lonely, hatred one. He only gets success in prophecy. He counted as a great man because of his prayer life. In James 5: 17-18, “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.”
Daniel was a man of prayer. Even his enemies were well known about his prayer life. How many people know your prayer life? In Daniel 6:10, “When Daniel learned that the written document had been signed, he went to an upstairs room in his house that had windows opened facing Jerusalem. Three times a day he would kneel down, pray, and give thanks to his God, just as he had previously done.”

Although, it was against law to pray; he prayed. He was miraculously saved from the lion’s den. He brought change in the kingdom of king Darius. Whole nation should worship the God of Daniel, decree was given (Daniel 6:24-27). It was his prayer life.

In New Testament,
Jesus Christ when He was in flesh in this earth. We know He was also a man of prayer. He was in human flesh like one of us. He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Bible says in Matthew 26:38, Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”
He was so deeply distressed, even to death. What did Jesus do in such stressful circumstances? He prayed, Matthew 26:39. He was like one of us in flesh, ordinary person but different, He was a man of prayer.

Peter and Paul was most powerful man because of their prayer life.
First, about Peter,
Let’s talk about Peter’s miraculous escape from prison. In Acts 12:5-19, verse 5, “Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.”
Peter was freed from prison. It was very miraculous. And there was prayer offered by church for him to almighty God.
Now, let’s see about Paul also. He was a very strong person. Many times, he faced such affliction which was beyond human bearable. All his letters are full of prayers and inspired by prayer. He used to pray for the churches and for believers and for saints and God’s people with fasting prayer. Apostle Paul was a great missionary, philosopher and the great church founder. It was all because of his prayer life. He was a great man of prayer.
John Knox, he saved Scotland through prayer. John Knox is known for his prayer, “Give me Scotland, or I die.”
Martin Luther was also very popular for his prayer life. Prayer was very valuable for his life. He says, “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” Luther was a powerful man in prayer.

Conclusion:-
All was an ordinary human like us. In the book of James 5:17, “Elijah was a person just like us.” If all these God’s people from different generation can live prayer life and could achieve God’s favor. Then today also we could achieve all God’s favor through prayer. In Hebrew 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” The same miracle-working God who works through those entire people in different generation is still doing those things today through the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of person those who believes Him and live the prayer life. All those were an ordinary human but through their prayer life they become extraordinary human.
In Luke 18:1, “Jesus told his disciples a parable about their need to pray all the time and never give up.” Here, all the Christians need to pray all the time and never give up. Therefore, live a regular prayer life and become a man and woman of prayer.
“Pray in Holy Spirit.”-Jude 20
